Exercise Programming

Providing cutting-edge wellness programs utilizing premium training modalities. No two people are alike. That’s why we offer individualized exercise programming for each of our clients. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, doing rehabilitation to regain strength after surgery, or starting an exercise regimen as part of your weight loss program, we can help.

You get a program tailored to your age and current abilities – you can do more than you think- and when you make progress, we celebrate with you and recalibrate your exercise program. Part of your program will involve regular visits to our gym, but we will also provide you with at-home exercise recommendations and activity suggestions to help you reach your goals. We also offer group training as requested.

Sports Performance

If you love to golf, the Palm Beach Gardens area is like heaven. If you want to master an effective swing, you may want to work with Dr. James Cima, Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified. A properly functioning body allows you to perfect your swing. As an avid golfer, Dr. Cima believes he can improve the average golfer’s handicap by 5-10 strokes simply by creating the perfect swing for their body type.

In addition, personal trainer Demetrius (aka Meech), is a multi-time state and national powerlifting champion and also holds a world record for the bench press in his age group and weight class. If you’re looking to compete, he can certainly offer you some tips.

Stretch Programs

Do you find that you feel constantly “tight”? Or, maybe you aren’t moving as easily as you’d like to. Your muscles are speaking to you, and they’re telling you they need stretching. Our team can develop a custom stretch program that can help you improve flexibility, reduce pain, move easier, and more.

Stretch programs can help clients of all ages and stages in life. We can develop stretching programs for young athletes, expectant moms, weekend warriors, seniors, and everyone in between.

Pilates

Pilates can improve your overall physical fitness and well-being. If you’re not familiar with the term, you may be wondering, what is Pilates? It’s an exercise method developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s. You perform a series of exercises on a mat or on a machine called a reformer.

These whole-body exercises do several things all at once. They:

    • Work the muscles
    • Improve endurance
    • Improve balance
    • Improve posture
    • Increase flexibility

Q: Is Pilates good for weight loss?

A: While Pilates therapy can be a part of a physical therapy plan, a Pilates workout on the reformer can be a part of a well-rounded physical fitness and weight loss plan. If it’s an exercise you enjoy, keep with it, and add cardio exercise and healthy eating to the mix for the best results.

Q: Is Pilates considered strength training?

A: Yes. Because Pilates uses resistance training using your body weight and equipment, it helps you build muscle strength. It also helps you improve your stability and endurance.

Strength Training

Strength training focuses on building muscle, muscle strength, and muscle tone. Examples of strength training exercises include:

  • Weight lifting – with machines or free weights
  • Pilates
  • Working with resistance bands

Aerobic Exercise

Aerobic exercise focuses on getting your heart rate up. It provides cardiovascular conditioning that improves heart health, improves lung function, and can help you lose weight. Examples of cardiovascular exercise include:

  • Running
  • Jogging
  • Jumping rope
  • Step aerobics
  • Cycling
  • Using an elliptical machine
  • Rowing
  • Walking

Which aerobic exercises we start you out on will depend on your current level of conditioning and physical abilities.

Balance Exercises

When most people think of physical fitness, they focus on muscular strength and aerobic exercise. But achieving and maintaining good balance is another facet of physical fitness. Balance exercises improve your core strength, boost your stability, and yes, improve your balance. For athletes, balance training can make you more powerful. For seniors, it can help prevent falls.
Examples of balance exercises include:

  • Single leg stance
  • Squats
  • Lateral leg lifts
  • Heel to Toe walking
  • Standing up from a chair without using your hands

Flexibility Exercises

It’s important to stay flexible at any age or stage of life. Being flexible makes moving around doing your daily activities easier. It also improves your athletic performance.
The majority of flexibility exercises involve stretching, and can include:

  • Forward lunges
  • Side lunges
  • Cross-over
  • Standing quat stretch
  • Seat side straddle
  • Knees to chest
  • Butterfly stretch
  • Standing calf stretch
  • Standing side stretch
  • Shoulder stretch
  • Arm stretches
  • Cat/cow stretch

By practicing all four types of exercises, you’re on your way to physical fitness. We’ll help you ensure you have the right form and technique to avoid injury and get the most from your program.

Benefits of Physical Fitness

Being active and physically fit has a wealth of benefits for people of all ages – anywhere from age 6 to 100. While the amount of exercise and physical activity will vary from person to person, the benefits are the same. Some of these benefits can include:

  • Losing weight
  • Maintaining a healthy weight
  • Normal blood pressure
  • Normal cholesterol
  • Well-regulated blood sugars
  • Stronger bones and muscles
  • Reduced risk of disease
  • Better lung capacity
  • Better endurance
  • Better balance and stability
  • Improved mobility
  • Pain relief
  • Better mental health
  • Improved sleep

Combined with healthy eating, regular physical exercise can help you lose weight and maintain a healthy weight. By maintaining your weight with regular exercise, you reap all the rest of the benefits listed above, and achieve an overall sense of wellbeing.

1. How can physical fitness prevent disease?

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), getting at least 150 minutes (2 ½ hours) of moderate physical activity can help prevent:

  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Stroke
  • Hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol)
  • Hypertension (high blood pressure)
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Some cancers

And by exercising more, you reduce your risk further.

2. How is health related to physical fitness?

In addition to helping prevent disease and ill health, regular physical exercise and staying physically fit can help you live longer. That’s especially important if you have kids and a spouse who are depending on you to be around for a long time.

3. Is stretching painful?
Stretching should not be painful. When stretching to lengthen your muscles, you should ease into it slowly. Stretching might be slightly uncomfortable, especially if your muscles are gith, but it should never be painful. Going too fast can lead to a torn muscle.

Huge fan of Dr Natalie! I went to her a couple times throughout my pregnancy & she helped me with back pain & to sleep so much better all the way to the end. Now taking my son to her for wellness! She is so good with babies & she even made us comfortable when I needed to feed my son in the middle of our appointment. Great experience every time. Cortney C.
I went to Dr. Natalie when I was pregnant because I was having pain in my pelvis and she helped me manage it very well. Also, we uncovered another issue with my hip alignment and linked that to the jaw pain I had for more than 5 years. I cannot wait to go again to start treating my jaw pain with Dr. Natalie! Jen
I can't recommend Dr. Natalie enough!! First started going to her to try to induce labor (delivered at 41+5), and always felt better mentally and physically after our appointments. Now 2 weeks pp she not only adjusted me and my baby (which wow did I need!) but she took time out of her day to patiently sit with us to help me latch and feed my son for the first time! Coached me through doing it once we got home and gave me the encouragement and support to have the fortitude to make it through the night. Now we are breastfeeding like pros and I have Dr. Natalie to thank for saving this special relationship for us ❤️❤️❤️ Monica R.
“My daughter, Avery got her first ear infection when she was 4 months old. By the time she was 1, she had over 15 ear infections! Many of them were double ear infections!
Dr Natalie is so amazing with my two kiddos! She adjusted my baby girl at 5 days old, and then she adjusted my 3-year-old son when he was showing early signs of ear infection and helped his body drain it out better. She is so amazing what a godsend 😊 Kait R.
I've been seeing Dr Natalie DeJesse for half my pregnancy and I wish I knew sooner to go to her. All the staff is very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is pregnant/ not pregnant. I definitely feel better after seeing her. You’re the best Natalie 😊 Heather V.
Dr Natalie is an amazing doctor. My pregnancy is giving me a lot of back problems and Dr Natalie was able to help me with a very thorough and personable approach. She actually takes time to listen to you and then provides an excellent chiropractic service. I will definitely come back to see her many more times before my delivery. Heidi R.
It was pure good fortune that I found this agency when I needed physical therapy after a knee replacement. Dr. Cristine Drake leads the team of Austin and Kim, all seasoned, caring professionals. It's one on one therapy, which I believe is vital to recovery. No cookie-cutter therapy here. They bring in different modalities to help in your recovery, my favorite being laser therapy. Your program is developed with your complete recovery in mind. You work hard, and everyone shares in your progress and victories. They care about your emotional well-being, as well as your physical recovery. When I had my second knee surgery, there was no question I would return. I'm doing well and look forward to my PT. I can feel the progress and know I'll be returning to this wonderful, healing place and people. Ask Austin about Pilates or Kim about training after recovery. Dr. Christine will tell you more about cupping therapy and how dry needling can help you. I can't wait to try it all. Call Renee, who makes sure the office runs smoothly, and make an appointment. You'll be taking a big step towards your health and wellness. Nancy M.
I have been working with Dr. Brandon Parker for roughly 8 weeks now and I couldn’t be happier. Not just does my body feel better and stronger overall we have worked a lot on mobility and range of motion (particularly in my hips) with each section I’m learning more about areas that seem to never get any exercise and learn how to strengthen those area over time whether it be at home or at the facility. Very, very pleased with Dr Parker and Cima Health as an organization. They also have an extremely friendly staff that’s willing to help and work with you!! Mr. Dietz
I have been a patient of Dr. Natalie DeJesse for a few years now! I came to see her because I was suffering from so much TMJ pain and headaches, as well as muscle spasms all over my head and neck. She also helped me with the tinnitus I had developed as a result of my TMJ problems. Dr. DeJesse and her wonderful massage therapists helped me get rid of the pain on my neck and head, and relaxed my sore muscles. I had to undergo a total replacement surgery of my left TMJ and she gave me wonderful support, before and after, during the process of my surgery, she is amazing and a very caring doctor. I fully recommend her and the excellent staff at Cima Health Monica G.
I have been coming to Dr. Cima and his team for almost a year now. Their expertise is superior and their customer service is what makes you feel part of their family and not just a patient. They are a one-stop shop for everything. I have my Botox done by Dr. Erin Shaw who is the office’s physician. I started with adjustments and routine maintenance with Dr. Natalie and Dr. Sparks who are amazing to having cosmetic touch-ups and now work with their onsite personal trainer / conditioning coach doing weight lifting. Very happy and highly recommend their services. Cody D.
